Introduction
The Tamang Heritage trek is one of the newly opened treks which combine an enchanting journey wherein you can enjoy the magnificent mountain views with the insight into the unique Tamang culture, alpine terrain, green meadows and rhododendron forest.Trekking through Tamang village gives you a wonderful opportunity to closely observe the community’s lifestyle, culture and crafts such as bamboo baskets and mats. Tamang Heritage trek presents the dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Dorje Lakpa (6989m), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges. Glaciers of varying sizes and high altitude lakes namely Gosiakunda, Pravatikuda, Bhairavkunda and Dudhkunda are found along the Tamang Heritage trek.

Day to day itinerary
Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Namaste & welcome to Himalayan Planet of Nepal. While you landed at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Nepal Himalaya Guide representative welcomes you with your name and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, bring you at head office and briefing about the program and evening we’ll pick up you for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural program in the heart of Kathmandu and overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: A Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
After your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise.
After visiting Bouddhanath stupa we’ll drive to the City of Devotees (Bhaktapur). This traditional and traffic free town is the third biggest town in the Valley. We’ll explore the medieval like squares, courtyards and temples of this vibrant town. After a stop for lunch at restaurant in Bhaktapur it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu and meet up with your travel consultant & fellows to prepare for next day and overnight at the hotel. Alternatively, the same group may have option to choose same 3 sightseeing place inside Kathmandu valley instead of these given place.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Syabru besi (1,467m/4,811ft)
Drive for a total of 9 hrs by local bus or private vehicle on a paved highway that twists & climbs over ridges to the Trishuli valley. We stop at Trisuli bazaar for lunch and continue to Betrawoti and finally on a rough twisting road to Dhunche. Here, You will enter the district Headquarters of Dhunche where your Langtang National park permit will be checked. A further 2 hour drive brings us to Syabru besi where we will stay overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Ghatlang (2,238m/7,340ft) via Goljung 6 hours
In while trekking you can experience some of the Tamang culture. You can see scenery from view point especially as you walk through a local village. The cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes your trekking a memorable one. Gatlang set high on a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Stay overnight at local people house.

Day 05: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2,607m/8,550ft) 6 hours
On the way you enjoy the sightseeing of the Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. At Tatopani which naturally signifies 'hot water', you can take a hot bath in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains. It is believed that taking a dip into this spring will heal you from your aches and pains. This day's trekking provides you an opportunity to experience the Tamang culture. Stay overnight at local people house.

Day 06: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2,338m/7,668ft) via Nagthali (3,165m/10,381ft) and Bimthang 5 hours
En route you may encounter animals like monkeys and deer. The panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Hima and Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali. Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. Another cultural village, Thuman, is popular for its Shamanic performances and beautiful view of Langtang. Beautiful views of the mountains can be seen from every house in Thuman. Stay overnight at local people house.

Day 07: Trek from Thuman to Timure (1,762m/5,671ft) 5 hours
While trekking from Thuman to Timure you can visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi. This day's trekking grants you an opportunity to observe Tibetan Burman Tamang culture in two of the villages on the way. Timure is on the old trade route to Tibet. A fort here is a historical reminder of the Nepal Tibetan relations that have existed for many centuries. A suspension bridge here links Nepal and Tibet. Stay overnight at local people house.

Day 08: Trek from Timure to Briddim (2,229m/7,311ft) 6 hours
You can experience the village life of Briddim and enjoy a cultural show performed by community members. You can also experience a home stay and Tamang culture. To mention a little about Briddim, it is a Tibetan Buddhist village in the bosom of Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in a Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of split shake. As direct descendants of ancient Tibetan immigrants, the culture and tradition of Briddim closely resembles that of Tibetan villages. Stay overnight at local people house.

Day 09: Trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi (1,467m/4,811ft) 5 hours
which takes three hours. You trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi via Wangel. This day the trail moves along a gently descending path passing through villages, terraces and magnificent views of surrounding hills. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 10: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu
In the morning drive back to Kathmandu by Local bus or private vehicle. The drive takes 9 hrs to Kathmandu.

Day 11: Leisure at Kathmandu
This is a full day at leisure to rest and relax, to explore the local area and perhaps do a bit of last minute shopping at the heart of Kathmandu valley. You also have the option of doing some sight-seeing including Bhaktapur and Patan. Afterwards, you will have an evening farewell dinner with your crew and overnight at Hotel.

Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
